Covid-19 vaccinations in West London

Is anyone aware of vaccinations taking place in West London? There are no NHS hospitals providing this service in our area. The nearest is the Royal Free! Hardly near.  The NHS in London seems to prioritise south London where five hospitals are vaccinating people. The Royal Free was until earlier this week the only unit north of the Thames. This week they added Queen’s Hospital in Romford and the Nightingale at EXcel. What about the west? Are any GP surgeries offering vaccinations? If the service doesn’t get started soon our over 85’s and care workers will be disadvantaged. Also it will take even longer to get to the rest of those on the priority list.

You just have to be patient. The NHS website says this."The NHS will let you know when it's your turn to have the vaccine. It's important not to contact the NHS for a vaccination before then."There's nothing more to say at the moment.

I read somewhere that a vaccination centre is being set up in Acton.

I am more than willing to be patient. I was just concerned the NW London CCG didn’t seem to be getting their act together. I am aware of over 80’s and social care staff being vaccinated in many parts of London but not in the north west. Time will be wasted if they don’t get going until the New Year.

I'm not even sure how many doses are available yet. I expect things will move quite slowly to begin with. The only worry is that the system is up to the demands - it's a hell of a job and unfortunately the organisational side of this business hasn't exactly been anything to write home about.

My sister’s in laws (in their 80s) had their vaccination in Barnes today.  They were contacted by their GP.  As others said you just need to sit tight.  They are rolling out the vaccine.

If you have to go the the Royal Free Hospital..don't worry.It's a very pleasant and quick journey from Gunnersbury Station to Hampstead Heath..then a short walk.

The first vaccinations took place in the heart of Hounslow Clinic on Tuesday. It was chosen because it could be managed on the ground floor without disruption to the GP Practices upstairs. Chiswick HC is likely to be the next centre to start vaccinations. Priority to Care Homes residents and staff, and over 80s. Also depends on how much of the vaccine is available. Lots of info on the Gov website. The CCG has been planning ever since it was known that vaccine was coming but information changed daily if not hourly. Staff were having four meeting weekly to try and plan. When it became clear what was happening they had a week to prepare and managed it. They also hope to have a a mobile unit. All this is being done by Gps etc in addition to their usual work and I think we should all be very grateful. Wait to be contacted and do not ring your GP - they have enough to do!

Great news. Heart of Hounslow is an excellent health centre. Hopefully after the New Year there will be more sites on stream. The Chiswick Health centre is very accessible.
