Have you asked at your GP surgery?

Yup..We've a pair of standard NHS crutches you can have..In North Chiswick off The Avenue.. PM if you want..

It’s also worth checking with pharmacies around Chiswick, as for some weird reason some people hand there crutches back to them, thinking they will get back to the NHS, but they don’t.

Leslie, if you haven’t managed to get hold of a pair by the weekend we have a pair we could give you. I’ll check back on Saturday.

Good, I'm glad you are sorted.I'm amazed at people who can't be arsed to return crutches or whatever to the NHS after use, though. That's if I'm correct in thinking that you are supposed to return them.

Believe me Anne, if anyone had mentioned how and where to return my crutches to I would have made sure I had. When I got my crutches in hospital I had other things on my mind!
I don't know if its still the case, but up to around 3 years ago, crutches or zimmer frames were not accepted when taken back.

It's the same with the plastic protective boot things. They're really expensive if you have to buy them but there's no system for returning them into NHS stock.

Nah, Anne's right. People like us lot just go around nicking crutches off the NHS just 'cos we can. “Can't be arsed” - What a divine lady.. Grrrrr
