Apparently, according to the grapevine, Benugo have pulled out of the cafe and also the new one in the sports centre, citing something to do with the cafe being burned down. Sounded to me like the insurance won't pay out because of the design of the cafe, so Benugo walked.
The grapevine also says CIC are on the brink of collapse and don't have any money to rebuild the cafe.
Regardless of whether the above is true or not, the idea they've spent millions of pounds on the park and didn't bother to put in any security is crazy. It was a matter of time before the cafe was burnt down. They're lucky it wasn't the house. For years, as regulars know, there's been arson attacks on the buildings, the old cafe was burgled regularly and a temporary cafe van was burnt down, a few years ago a car was driven in at night and set on fire. What made the CIC think after spending millions this wouldn't continue to happen? It'd be a great job for a couple of security guards with dogs who could wander about at night just keeping an eye out. If people knew security guards and dogs were patrolling they'd think twice about hanging around.
