Be aware Street robberies

We seem to have a gang of anything around 8-12 boys around 14yrs old going around Chiswick mugging other children for mobile phones.They are all in the usual black coats and seem to all have black trousers on with some having backpacks which points to school uniform underneath coats. One robbery was on the the 5th opposite TGT and another on the Avenue this Tuesday gone. If you see a large group of that description and look like they are upto no good rather than on way home of visiting rocks lane then call the police. Get away with 2 and they are more than  likely to persist in the crime until they are caught.

Back then when I was in school we could leave our coats outside the classroom and no-one would take them - also we never had any incident that school children try to steal from their fellow students, very very sad, I can imagine parents these days are worrying a lot.

I suspect that 'back then' coats didn't have £500s worth of telephone sitting in them. Nor did the kids walk around, zombie like, glued to their phones and totally unaware of their surroundings.  Not meant to be an excuse for muggings by any means, but is likely the reason for what's going on right now.

Must say that while the two cant be connected but have simalarities it could be a case of 12 being together on a peticular day and took advantage of another young person for items like a phone given location and no one else around,a quite back road for example. I think the point here is to make parents aware and pass down to children what they should be doing to take more care and what to do if approached. I think my innitial post possibly gave the idea this group or gang may be going around doing this on a regular basis as a part time job. Dont forget that you dont have to have a phone out on show to be told to hand it over. If your on your own and in the wrong place you could well be approached to hand over items on the basis most children have some form of mobile phone these days or even some money

the streets are not safe for walkers and needs priority if they want more people walking.
