Chiswick Cameras - broken into last night !

Andy contacted me this morning saying his shop suffered a major break in with circa £40,000 worth of equipment stolen.As if it isn't hard enough for independent traders atm, heartless criminals have broken in caused damage and distress as well as financial loss, yes Andy's insured but all that takes time and he's in his 2nd lockdown.When Chiswick Cameras reopens in December please support him.Many thanks Loraine

He has my sympathy, Loraine. Given the way photography is managed nowadays, with mobile phones, instant downloads, the internet, etc, running a camera shop must be a difficult task, requiring both knowledge and ingenuity. I hope his business recovers from this callous crime.

I am also very sorry to hear this news. I have used Chiswick Cameras for many years and bought many cameras and lenses from them, as well as exchanging some second hand equipment.It is indeed very important we support this kind of business that offers the sort of expert help and advice, as well as hands on experience, that it is just not possible to get when buying online.I hope they catch those responsible.

I would assume and hope that Andy has security camera surveillance, which might help in identifying the toe rags.

I am also very sorry to hear this. I have known Andy for some years and had a great deal of help and advice from him. He also does a very helpful teaching service; in my case a very useful half-day spent in Chiswick House Grounds with camera in hand.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments, Andy sent me a photo of the damage they also did to his shop. The criminals weren't content with stealing but also wrecked his shop. I'd post photo on hear but it's way beyond my technical expertise

People are so desperate, it's becoming ridiculous.I know the shop and have been and spoke to the owner before, he is a nice guy.Seriously, I hope they have everything on footage as too much of this sort of thing is going on.
