Driving from Acton to M&S Chiswick with a disabled person - route options please

Hello all, I'm not trying to start a big debate on the rights and wrongs of road planning, I simply would like to know the easiest way to get from Acton to M&S in Chiswick with someone who can't walk very far and has a disabled badge. I need to park at the back of M&S to take said person to M&S to pick up an online order, do a quick food shop and then straight back to Acton. I've not been since the closure of TGT and Fishers Lane for obvious reasons so I don't know quite the best way to do it. Is Acton Lane still closed? Or maybe via Chiswick roundabout or Goldhawk Road and along the high road and then cut up round the back?  I'll be going about midday if it makes any difference to traffic. Thanks in advance.

From Acton, head down Acton lane to South parade. Turn left onto it and and head as far as Turnham Green Terrace. Head down Turnham green terrace to the end. Turn right on to chiswick high road. Take second right turn (Windmill road) and keep left when you hit chiswick back common — that takes you to back of M+S.  No need to justify driving with or without someone who is disabled and be aware that Turnham green terrace has been temporarily re-opened for all vehicles. This may change in a week or 2 once Acton lane (nr Chiswick Park tube) has re-opened.

That's great, thanks for the TGT info. If that's open, then it's easy. I thought it was no through road so was wondering how to go the long way round.

When they do close it again, it might actually be easier to get deliveries sent to the Kew branch where parking is easy and access is along the north and south circulars so no random closures.

That defeats the use of CHR stores going off to Kew , but i now mostly shop in Askew Rd nowdays so are our Rulers learning anything from their crazy actions? I doubt it an d i bet they dont care either.

Maybe get delivered by Ocado in future they have a new tie-up with M&S?

A snag might be that I don't think the back entrance to the CHR M&S is any longer accessible to the public.

It was the last time I went there (which wasn't that long ago). If it isn't, there is a single yellow line between the bus stop and the five P&D bays located before the junction of CHR with Windmill road (or there was last time I looked, don't know if a cycle lane has appeared in the last few days, but don't think it has) where you could park on a Disabled badge.Finally, if neither of those are options, perhaps your friend will be able to manage to walk the fairly short distance from the Car Park off Chiswick Common Road, along the alley way (Bond Street) to CHR and then into M&S.

Thanks all I went yesterday down TGT, the traffic was fine and plenty of parking behind M&S and the back entrance is open. Worked perfectly — like the old days :-) In future, when TGT is off limits, I will go to Kew if need disabled access or Ealing if it's only me. I used to use the stop and shop parking bays quite a lot in Chiswick on my way home from places.  Going along the high road I completely understand the problems people are complaining about. It'll put a lot of people off going anywhere near the area. I worked in Chiswick for many years, so it's a real shame to see the mess they've made and the potential knock-on for the traders.
