Perfect Chris Davies commented as follows"I agree also "Who cares ? Are you a respected authority on some subject or other, such that people should listen to you ?" A typically nasty comment from our resident personality disordered poster."Maybe it's just as well that you didn't actually specifywho you were referring to there; as otherwiseyour remark could be seen as being clearly defamatory. Now obviously Perfect Chis Davis expects everyone he encounters in life to be perfectly perfect just like himself and his perfectly perfect family. And so when he encounters somebody a bit crotchety who hedoesn't happen to agree with, but without actually naming names,  as perfect people don't easily lay themselves opento legal remedy he accuses them of suffering from a "personality disorder" and making "nasty comments"! Clearly one unfortunate aspect of being a perfectly perfect person is suffering from an irony deficit. Butunfortunately irony supplement in the form ortablets or liquid are not yet available.Perfect Chris Davies then goes on to say" How dare people have some fun in what has beenone of the worst years of most peoples lives."Most people seem to manage to have enough fun simplyby watching entertainment or sport, eating nice food, resorting to drink, drugs or various physicalactivities to delicate to mention on a public forum, without any pressing need to scare the living daylights out of either people or animals. It really is as simple as that and I agree 100% with the OP.The fact its a tradition etc cuts no ice I'm afraid,So were public exaercutions at one stage. Which wereonly ended becaue people were clearly enjoyingthem too much. This is simply noise fascism. "I have this very loudfirework which I'm going to let off at any time Ichoose, and potentially scare the living daylightsout of anyone not expecting it and anyone whoobjects is being a spoilsport in spoiling my fun !I demand fun ! I want my fun !To repeat" one of the worst years of most peoples lives."So it would seem being perfectly perfect doesn'tnecessarily apply to reasoning ability either. Given thatfor many of self same those people whove had a bad it would made a whole lot worse by noise fascists demanding to have their "fun"michael adams

David Grantley explained [of dogs ]" Usually kept indoors for over twenty hours a day and, when walked, typically over the same old ground."But many such dogs are not alone but offer companionship to their owners during the day.Dogs aren't at all concerned about walking over the same old ground providing there are plenty of new smells as the result of other dogs havingbeen around. Dogs are in fact very territorial. As to your walking claim if you mean walked on a lead then that rather casts doubt on your subsequent claim as to how they can pose a threat to wildlife.  All banning dogs in public parks will achieve is deny many people the only real motivation many people can muster to take regular exercise in the open air. Something which provides them and their dogs with companionship in both meeting other dogs and other dog owners."As a local nature warden explained to me recently"Without wishing to appear unduly cynical all I can say is "Well he would (say that wouldn't he) ?His job depends on identifying problems whetherthey actually exist or not. If you talked to arborialists they would probably point to allsorts of problems the trees in most parks, similarly groundsmen to the dire state of the grass. "Rather than ban one event that happens once a year"Once a year ? Many of us indeed might prefer to return to the 1950's. More especially if we could remember the names of some of the Derby winners in between. But otherwise the once a year thing died out long ago I'm afraid."is something they do for themselves ... and not for the dog."The relationship between man and dog as with all other domesticated animals is symbiotic, and always has been. Thats what's so fascinating about it. We can't be sure why they like us, and aren't really sure if they really know why we like them or even give the matter very much thought. This is something you can't really get from a goldfish swimming around in a bowl.michael adams
