Well, I have signed every petition I know about today (in the nick of time) and also emailed everyone relevant whose email addresses I have. What I haven't yet done effectively enough is Twitter. The email I sent below is too long for Twitter and I don't really want to break it up with multiple tweets. Does anyone have a concise but pithy suggestion for a tweet (or copy of a good existing tweet) that I can basically copy? Running out of time and energy and very busy week coming up. Also below are the twitter addresses of the relevant people I know about, but if there are others I should add, could you please post them here? My email to Grant Shapps et al is as follows:- Please do not give London Borough of Hounslow or London Borough of Ealing any more cash relating to so-called Low Traffic Neighbourhoods. Few people are against reducing pollution and congestion. The way these schemes have been implemented in this area, however, specifically on the Chiswick High Road and access roads to the High Road have increased both. Traffic is forced into other residential areas that previously received little pollution from idling traffic, unlike now. The congestion is horrendous, people are angry, the way cyclists have to get to the cycle lanes are dangerous. They have given over the bus lanes on the busy Chiswick High Road to bikes, meaning terrible congestion pretty much constantly, unless temporarily held back by the lights, many instances recorded of ambulances not being able to get through. If there were a serious incident requiring police or fire attendance, they would be totally stuck as an already not very wide road has been narrowed for a dangerous bi-directional cycleway that is barely used. In addition, they have closed two of the three routes for those who live North of the High Road (a very big area) to get to Chiswick High Road by car or cab, which is causing absolute mayhem. Online delivery services are refusing to deliver as it is not worth the hassle, people needing to get to appointments are late, even if they brave the bus as the bus stops are now in the middle of the road causing major traffic jams and a real hazard, particularly to the disabled and elderly, who now have to cross a bi directional cycle lane just to get on and off the bus. This scheme actively discriminates against older people and the disabled. Please do not give them any more money to install more of this madness. Spend it on worthwhile things instead – there are plenty of those. And we need to reverse the terrible scheme that has been implemented which is destroying lives and businesses (traders are reporting horrendous falls in footfall) and is many accidents waiting to happen. You may be aware that Ealing Council is being taken to court because of the strong feelings of its residents over the way these have been implemented. Hounslow will be next. Please just stop this madness. The twitter addresses I have that I'd like to post a concise version of the above to (suggested wording would be much appreciated are, and please let me know any I am missing):- @RonnieMushiso@rgill9@mikedenniss@ChisRiverTories@GabriellaSGG@LondonAssembly@CityHallLabour@RuthCadbury
