Does anyone know if they were living in Chiswick when he was doing standup comedy at the Hammersmith Apollo and filming “ Mrs Brown“?

They did, at one point, live near Brook Green.
Ken Munn ● 2185d
They bought a riverside house in the Teddington/Twickenham area.

I thought they lived for a time in the house that is white and somewhat castellated on the corner of Chatsworth Avenue. Can’t remember my source.

He did, Rima. At The Old Coach House. He now lives in a village on the Kent coast.

Thanks Roger. That means that he can be included in the Timeline of Chiswick Writers since he has written his autobiography “Exorcising Ghosts : Strawbs and Other Lives”The reason for also trying to find out about Billy Connolly and Pamela!
Did he at one time live in Chiswick?

Thanks again Roger!Did Alastair Burnett, broadcaster live in Chiswick?
Rima Jones ● 2181d
Don't know about Burnett but you just triggered a memory that Donald McCormack a Newsnight presenter lived in my road.

Correction. MacCormick
Now that Bob (Glebe Street) has moved to Devon, you can include him too, Rima.

Sod it, he's moved to Cornwall. With a beautiful view overlooking the sea, in the farmhouse where DH Lawrence wrote Women In Love.
Oh my goodness. I thought he’d been quiet for a while.I have his book here “Constructions “ with chapters by Bob Osbourne and he signed it too on Green Days so I must let Torin know this!

Interesting. Where and when was that?He can certainly go on the notable residents thread and possibly on the Timeline of Chiswick writers also, since he wrote a regular political column for the Scottish edition of The Sunday Times

Excellent Roger. Would you like to put him on that thread?
Best I don't, Rima. I have a lot of time for Bob, but there are others in Chiswick who know him far better than I do. I think Stuart Kerr or Michael Brown could do a better job than me.
