Robert Fisk

Robert Fisk has died. What a loss. A man who really understood the complexities of the Middle East and wrote with compassion.

Very true. He had a deep understanding of Arab points of view, which of course made him unpopular in some quarters. And he had that rare distinction of having his surname established as a verb! But I must admit I never found him an easy read.

I always appreciated his reports on the radio. A valuable insight into troubled regions. Sad to think of another excellent journalist gone.

Yes, very sad. Was a great journalist and had a great insight into Middle Eastern situations.A sad loss when you compare proper reporting as opposed to the usual dross in UK newspapers.

Fearless, uncompromising, determined and utterly committed to uncovering the truth and reality at all costs, Robert Fisk was the greatest journalist of his generationChristian Broughton, The Independent.I totally agree, couldn't have put it better!
