Halloween treats

Before the COVID rules were tightened up, we bought a large tub of wrapped sweets for Halloween. We usually see lots of trick or treaters, but not surprisingly, we only had a few last night, so we are left with loads of children’s sweets and no idea what to do with them! They are not what you might call healthy treats, so I can’t think a school would want them! Any ideas?

As with any household hazard needing safe disposal contact council to take away - although a price may be charged as with similar 'disposal of hazards' namely asbestos found in homes during renovations. It has been known that said sugary teeth-rotting hazard has been deeply buried in back gardens.

Not the best of foods, 'tis true, but you could perhaps donate them to a food bank. If they aren't welcome, the food bank will no doubt dispose of them or find an alternative home.

in Sainsbury used to be a food donation box near the tills - not sure if it is still there?

Yes as I'm sure my answer implies. It was a suggestion and I'm sure we've all indulged in less than healthy 'treats' at times.
