Grove Park Weed patrol volunteers

Hounslow Highways have, as you know, been having problems doing the weeding on our streets this year. This is because they have had to do it manually and it is extremely slow. The result was that weeds were rampant. They managed to deal with some of the bigger weeds, but have left the smaller one. They have now stopped any attempt at weeding to turn to leafing. So I was wondering if anyone in Grove Park was interested in doing any weeding informally? and PLEASE no rants about weeding not being done/Taxpayers money etc

Iris, a job well worth doing.  In the past I'd have joined you but at my ripe age simply can't bend and twist.  I've been paying someone since Spring to hand-weed my rosebed - it works a treat, any that do reappear are tiny and easily dislodged with a hoe.  What about a group of school kids - it would get them into the great outdoors and benefit their neighbourhood.

Hope you're not going to use weedkiller. Can't you just live with it? They're good for wildlife and theyll die off when the weather gets cold anyway.

This is handweeding. I don’t think the trees growing in the pavement will die off
