Value of TGT fines nearly £1m !

See front page article http://www.chiswickw4.com/default.asp?section=info&page=conroad265h.htmWho really believes this scheme was done to reduce traffic or merely a money making scam by the wonderful folk at LB Hounslow ?

Just posted on Twitter by LBH -“Acton Lane closed for @thameswater emergency repairs since 8.30pm on Friday, diverting traffic via Turnham Green Terrace. New diversion being set up via Goldhawk Rd from 5pm tonight. Any PCNs issued since 8.30pm on Friday will be cancelled but need to be appealed.“

What a cop out by LBH - they should just be cancelled, guess our wonderful LBH are hoping many people wont appeal... Sheesh !

"New diversion being set up via Goldhawk Rd" You cant be serious Im in a belief now that only time before its 2 steps forward takes 3 steps back.

Julian Pavey ● 2195d

Goldhawk Rd are they for real????With CHR gridlocked as it is it's going to take forever to get to Goldhawk Rd and then double back on myself, what an utter farce. I'm hoping beyond hope that Thames water will be done by tomorrow but not holding my breath. Hells bells you couldn't make this shit up.

Chris Johnson ● 2195d

Yes I don’t understand that thinking behind that either, Goldhawk Road?!Also why can’t they just cancel the tickets? They have diverted vehicles down TGT, why the need to appeal?

Mark Perry ● 2195d

Thames Water's works license lasts until 23.59 on November 2nd (next Monday) so let's hope they're just being cautious! As I have said before this bit of road must be one of the most frequently excavated in London, so this will be far  from an exceptional situation. It's poor that it has taken all this time for LBH to issue a statement and when they do they have screwed up yet again - why on earth should people have to appeal PCNs? Surely they can just cancel them at source. It's got to be either sneaky or incompetent.

Who needs muggers when we have LBH instead

Got a local transport issue, then sod off, I'm not interested. I work on my own personal beliefs only, not your concerns

Well obviously it’s about the money. The councillors should all be sacked.

Mark Dixon ● 2195d

Just when you thought the incompetence and intransigence of Hounslow could not get any worse. The stretch of Acton Lane around Chiswick Park is dug up every few months, clearly some underlying issues that are complex to address. A diversion by Goldhawk Rd, over a 2 mile round trip, just so they can pretend that TGT is closed to traffic. They are beyond a joke. Just to be clear, this the lot that will decide on all the 'consultations' currently going on. Dont waste your time.

Paul Green ● 2195d

We should demand Chiswick leaves Hounslow council, they are a disgrace and clearly don’t care about Chiswick other then the money shocking!

Jayne Thorburn ● 2195d

If it was that easy I think Chiswick would have packed its bags and stormed  off long ago!

Bruce Hammal ● 2195d

Especially when you read stories about the fact that Commonplace, which is supposed to impartially record the views of residents about the scheme is directed by a local Labour Councillor.  The whole thing is deeply suspect. http://www.ealingtoday.co.uk/default.asp?section=info&page=conroad023.htm

Claire Moran ● 2195d

Nope, they're all just as bad as each other. Chiswick's fat, lazy Tories are just as on the take.

Mark Dixon ● 2195d

And what do they take exactly? The Hounslow Conservative Councillors do not have any involvement in setting the Councils agendas

Paul Fisher ● 2195d

MD: "Chiswick's fat, lazy Tories are just as on the take."What an outrageous and possibly litigious statement to make, you owe Chiswicks Councillors an apology.

Loraine Pemberton ● 2195d

What Tory Cllr is on the take ? Or just a personal political rant so no one is left out
