Yes, I heard that too, which is brilliant news, do hope the owners can post what happened and how the cat was recovered. I am in touch with many rescue organisations and follow mabt social media sites relating to animals. The scale of stealing animals has ramped up enormously over the last year, partly because thieves see it as an easy way to make money, compounded by people wanting companion animals during the pandemic. There is a petition being debated in parliament to make pet theft a specific crime. All of us who know the grief of a lost pet can relate to that I'm sure. If anyone wants to see relevant petitions to sign, I can post them on here. In the meantime please keep your animals safe, keep your dogs close by on walks, and if you have a cat, if you want to let it outside, a catproofed garden gives it exercise, ability to sit in the sun, etc without the hazards of being stolen/being run over/poisoned accidentally or deliberately, or being strapped to a firework as happens sadly with many thugs who find a cat leading to appalling injuries and deaths as we approach bonfire night. Happy to recommend someone who can catproof a garden (they did it for me many years ago, no financial or other relationship involved).
