TGT SENIOR CITIZEN MARSHAL

I just seen a lady with a big placard warning cars of £120 fine near the bridge and cars are indeed turning around. Good on her

Hope she's got big tips..

We saw her too, sweet an L scooter driver stopped and turned around

Bless. We’ve got massive signs up in Grove Park saying “No access to Harvard Hill”, “No access to Burlington Lane”, but then there’s no cameras collecting fines, just barriers blocking the road.

What a complete mis management - good on the woman - I would join her !!

Helen Bamberger ● 2202d

Yes,Smashing lass too..  Very energetic..I  told her “well done” and we had a chat and a laugh..

Is it Maggie Dodge?

Michael Brown ● 2202d

I saw her too. I jut wonder if turning cars around 1/2 way down the road may get them pinged twice? I thought the camera's were taking photos as they enter the road, not recording if they travel the length of it.  Anyway, good on her.

Awful she got so much abuse if story on front page is correct.  Typical, sadly, in Chiswick.

Claire Moran ● 2202d

A friend of mine did the same after being fined himself. Just for a few hours though, but small victories.

Apparently she, or someone who looks like her, was out again today. It is a really thoughtful thing for someone to spend their time doing. She should suggest that the people she helps avoid a fine make a small donation to charity.

Michael Brown, its not me.  I'm not sure if your comment was meant kindly or not but it made  me smile.  This woman is a legend.

Maggie Dodge ● 2199d

Spoke to her yesterday when I walked down an almost deserted TGT.  She was explaining to one car driver about getting a fine if they continued and got a mouthful of abuse.

Caroline MacMillan ● 2199d

A consultation won't help with that behaviour.

The Turnham Green Fairy has made the press, brilliant, thank you to the press for picking up this local issue which is causing chaos, congestion on other roads, destroying the traders business and a real nuisance for the local community. The people are fighting back against Hounslow council who do not serve the local community, just take our money.

Where?

Daily Mail for a start...

I’m not surprised about the verbal abuse this lady seems to be getting. London residents attitude to being told there about to do something wrong and it had to be pointed out to them by a member of the public bring out the worst in lot of people.I had to man a day closure of a road for a 10k charity run. Most turned around after seeing two no entry signs blocking their way, but the drivers who thought they had a god given right to use the road, threw a load of abuse at me. I went home that night and had to look at a dictionary to find out what some of the names I was called ment.Good luck to this lady she deserves a medal for putting up with the abuse she is receiving. Basically Chiswick / London is mainly a vile place to live.

Completely agree with you Bernard.  Well done to this lady.  The selfish attitude and behaviour of so many Londoners on wheels leaves a lot to be desired.

Philippa Bond ● 2198d

At least there’s a higher probability of the abusive drivers getting a PCN through the post now

It should be said that this wonderful blonde lass was very brave doing what she did.  Jumping out into the road waving her placard.  It would only have taken one dizzy twerp in a 4x4 or one determined super-git in a BMW to have knocked her over...

Stuart Kerr ● 2198d

I reckon she was spritely enough in her feet to jump out of the way if that happened!
