Bruce, if politicians carry out polling, it's usually for their own information, not to give exclusively to a news website. In any case, a polling company will aim to provide the most accurate information, not a biased sample that just buttresses the client's opinion - there's just no business in that. You misread their prospectus if you think that's all they do. For example, the company's latest polling has Biden on 49% and Trump on 41%. Is that because the Democrats paid them off? This survey was of Londoners. There is absolutely no reason to believe it was of a particular area of London with no experience of LTN's, especially as many London boroughs were generally successful in getting government funding to implement them. This survey, conducted a few days ago, found 52% supporting and 19% opposing LTN's, remarkably similar to TfL's September survey of 51% to 16%. Maybe in your eyes that suggests collusion, but it might just be that really is how Londoners feel about these measures. After all, half of London households don't have cars and yet suffer from the pollution, noise and safety hazard from too much through traffic. Many of those who do drive feel similarly. It shouldn't be so much of a surprise that LTN's are popular. But I agree, this poll clearly caused you concern, and that's possibly why you claim it has no value.
