Covid self testing walk in centre in Acton

I don’t hesitate to criticise the government and an not a fan of any of the current ministers, however, today I booked a Covid test online and within an hour was at the fully staffed centre, with no queue and being looked after by the very pleasant staff. It was excellent

"Up to 48 hours"Please do share with the forum when you do get your result through as this is the whole issue with the testing process. People are being tested left, right and centre but it's getting the results back which is the problem.

Yes (assuming you’ve taken a test because you have one of the 3 key symptoms). You and your household need to self isolate until  you get a negative result (obviously if you get a positive result you and your household need to continue to self isolate in accordance with the relevant rules).We went through this last week. They give you a card with a number to call if you don’t get a result in 48 hours. Unfortunately if you call it, you get an automated response saying they’re too busy.Our negative result came by email at 3am (so about 58 hours after the test)

My friend had this problem :  If you suffer with asthma and happen to have a temperature with a chest infection, get tested for Covid 19 first before you go to the doctor or they won't give any treatment or anti-biotics until you have a negative result back, once you have the negative result go to the doctor this will save time.  Otherwise with the delay caused in getting a prescription you could end up in Hospital.

My 48 hours passed at 1330 today, so far no result. 119 say it could take up to five days.

Thank you Janice. My negative result came at 2130 last night, 56 hours after the test at the Michael Flanders Resource Centre. W3 8PP. Im usually the first to criticise our shambolic, lying, self serving government,( can you tell I’m not too keen on them?), but in this case I have no complaints and as I said in my post, the staff at the centre were all calm, helpful and friendly.

Good news, I certainly don't moan about the Government but wish the doctors would try to avoid delays for people with ongoing illness like asthma.

I used that test centre last week, booked my appointment the same morning with full availability of time slots, I was the only person attending during the time I was there, staff were helpful and everything seemed very efficient. I got my results back 50 hours later - negative.
