What to do with an antique carving set?

Does anyone known what I can do or where I can donate an antique carving set in its original wooden box. It’s a lovely piece but EBay won’t take anything considered a weapon and I doubt the charity shop would either...? It would break my heart to throw it out but equally don’t have a use for it...

Put it into a regular auction eg chiswick auctions.

If you want to give it away, put it on Freecycle.

I''m afraid that long gone are the days when Chiswick Auctions would accept something like that for their sales. Not now that they have offices in South Kensington, Italy and Greece! Anyway it's £15 per lot just to enter items then sellers' commission of 15% plus VAT on top of that. Unless you're prepared to travel to a country auction one option is to put items on the for sale section of somewhere like nextdoor. If the worst comes to the worst somebody will usually take things that are free.

Quilliam Estate Agent in Brentford (High Street just a tad further on from Goddard's) is teamed with Swan Antiques, Oxfordshire - they had an auction of items a few weekends ago. It might be worth giving them a go.Otherwise, might a tv or am dram costume department be interested?
