Pissarro's restaurant - Corney Reach

Does anyone know what is happening to the old Pissarro's restaurant? No development has taken place and there is a 'Restaurant to let' sign at the back of the building (visible from the car park).

There is a Facebook Group - https://www.facebook.com/savepissarro's  There seems to have been no update since Feb but you could try messaging the hosts to ask them.

Given the state of the catering sector at the moment, I'd say the site is moribund as a restaurant.

The site was unviable before the COVID. It will remain unviable moving forward.Locals in that area have only themselves to blame for the blight. There have been several workable development proposals put forth for a prime riverside parcel and they've been shot down. By now the neighbors could have moved in. But you have a rotting carcass of a building instead. Job well done.

I'm surprised there isn't an application for a 34 floor high rise there yet?

Planning permission was final granted in the teeth of highly organised and well funded opposition from locals backed up by local councillors and the planning committee. The original plan was somewhat over developed and unattractive but the one with permission is excellent and blends well with the surrounds.Needless to say the residents still want to resist development and I believe they own some sort of random strip or covenant that could prevent access to the construction.
