Sick and tired of the Royals now. They get far too much coverage and they have shown themselves to be two faced money grabbers. A much more realistic program on BBC 2 started last night at 9pm "In the Face of Terror".  Heart rendering, factual, very sad. It's a series of 3 episodes.

LONG LIVE THE QUEEN and our monarchy.  It is the single stable thing our country has and I'd far rather some of our taxpayers money when to preserving that than going towards some glory-seeking power mad "figure".  The monarchy brings millions of pounds into our country.

The Queen, the Prince of Wales and Prince William seem pretty stable to me until idiots like you come along and want to dismantle our centuries of Monarchy in favour of what exactly???  More politians?

Where did I ever say I wanted to dismantle the Monarchy?That isn't to say our lot aren't unstable. Just look at them. You only have to watch The Crown to glean an insight into just why they are unstable. The infighting, the affairs, the jealousy. It doesn't take a PhD in Psychology to work out why these people are so incredibly damaged. They simply can't be taken very seriously. Dickie Greentrough's idle, Don Trump, on the other hand, should be taken very seriously because he is unstable and he has the power to push the button and end it all.

Steve - your comment "...they have shown themselves to be two faced money grabbers"  can hardly be considered polite nor the words of a staunch monarchist. I don't believe the Queen, Prince Phillip, the Prince of Wales or Prince Edward fall into the money grabbing category.  Princess Anne works exceedingly hard and Edward and Sophie have also stepped up their duties.  Their loyality and duty to the Crown cannot be doubted. Most instability within the Royal family has been caused by unwise decisions to marry people unsuited, unprepared or unwilling to knuckle down under the reality of being part of this great Monarchy and its often onerous restrictions.The Netflix film The Crown is make believe Steve, its not real, it's nothing more than the writers' clever, dramatic imaginations.  Pleased to read you are a Monarchist.

Yes, totally agree, Steve, it's very precarious, the younger ones are a laughing stock, they are a cruel, outdated anachronism that needs to go. I think when the Queen dies, which of course won't be long, they will be in big trouble. Charles and his wife very popular - lots of people don't like adulterors and the way he treated Diana was appalling. William and Kate won't be in position for probably 20 or more years and he comes across as weak and confused.

I think it's very hard work being a Royal and don't envy them, the queen has been wonderful and I like Wills and Kate although not a Royalist hopeThey remain.

The Royal Family work extremely hard.None of them actually wanted the job but since they’ve been landed with it they’re doing everything they can to keep the country and the Commonwealth going.When politicians are fighting one another the Royal Family stay out of it, stay calm and are there for emergencies.When it was Grenfell Prince William and Harry were the first to donate and the Queen went straight there. Visiting people in hospital, and touring the area with William to see what was being done.Whereas Theresa May........Whenever there’s a crisis in the Country we look to the Queen who never fails to respond positively.Prince Charles has been an environmentalist all his life and works long into the night writing letters and considering how much he can do to help.The Queen has done a tour with David Attenborough to discuss the importance of trees and biodiversity.She has set up a scheme for planting hundreds of trees across the Commonwealth.Prince Williams programme was about teaching children to recognise the importance of nature with bees and insects when he has children of his own and wants a future for all children.When the Government is failing, the Royal Family are there for us.

It is high time that this was a subject that was aired and so good to see that it is open to all to come up with suggestions.  So many little things that we could all do rather than doing nothing and expecting someone else to sort it for us. No-one is too small to make a difference!
