.. new J20 virus alert..

As many will remember, provocative name-calling on this forum was widespread a few years back. But that was then and this is now. This place has since grown-up.  As far as I can see everyone involved in that game has long since moved on and integrated into the wider forum family.   A few have long memories, some hold quiet grudges.  Nevertheless, peace has reigned for a long while.Recently, however, a poster who was not around in the old days has kicked off a new outbreak of offensive name-calling.  James Smith-Jones.I'm headlining this as the James20 Virus because he's the main culprit.  Which is fair play, given that he's invented pathetically childish names for so many veteran forumers including Micki, Maggie and Elizabeth – as well as a whole cluster of guys like me.This has previously been just a dull repetitive nuisance from a lousy adolescent  local who the owners of this site should have tranquillized long ago.Except  now it has escalated into something far more sinister, very repetitive and very nasty. (see series of nagging posts on the “Time for 2nd Full Lockdown“ thread).  In which another forumer, Steve Taylor, has joined with James Smith-Jones taking things down to a far lower level.  Go see for yourselves. It basically involves a concentrated attack on my recent forum recommendation of a wonderful Michael Brown fitted wardrobe.  In which this pair of narrow-eyed, obsessive thugs insist means that I somehow believe Covid19 doesn't exist and 911 never happened.    In other words a cheap effort to brand someone by going on and on with the same old story.  Classic gangster tactics.  It'll be the holocaust next.I'd have hoped (for the sake of forum peace quiet and common sense) that  more direct action could have been avoided.  Clearly it can't.   This malicious, distasteful James20 Virus is spreading and if it spreads much further it'll soon be out of control.Sorry about this but it is NOT of my doing..  If you think I'm wrong then say so (obviously).  If you consider this unfair, again say so.  I'll hear you. And I'll take in what you say.   Likewise, if you've spotted the James20 virus and don't want it on this forum – let him know.I can only hope, even at this late stage, that things don't get even uglier.  Maybe common sense will prevail. We shall see..

oh poor little Stupid Fkerr. So let us put the record straight. i started posting on the forum a few months back and engaging with other forumers which clearly annoyed you along with your wrister friends, deciding to gang up as you have done in the past. Unfortunately for you, I played you all and showed you up for what you are , bullies who seem to think this forum belongs to you. So it is ok for you to lob abusive and threatening language to others because you are a long timer.Sorry since when did the law change. When attacked, I will defend myself. As for your very good friend Mr Brown3rd i think his posts are insensitive at a time when people are dying with a virus we know very little and he preaches against every recommendation put forward to try and protect each other. Now,my life is important but someone else's live is just as important and if you feel that we should not stand up to his misinformed garbage he pumps out on here then that is your problem. Yesterdays post by your friend Roger Talbot about cats and ar$es was way below the mark, but again some thought that was acceptable. As i said to you in another post and i will repeat it to you, you are a complete idiot who thinks this forum belongs to you. What gives you the right to lecture me.What is even more pathetic is you have rallied your pals, start this thread as some kind of popularity contest which you claim i crave and here you are doing exactly that, couldn't make it up. As i said, i am done playing with you Mr Stupid Fkerr and could't care less what you or your pals think of me

The outpourings of love have been overwhelming. I expected a loving missive from my obsessed admirer and duly got one. Something about me not having self-awareness – which was clearly heart felt but also ironic given that I rarely insult others and she often does. Love does make us blind. The tsunami of appreciation from others was a pleasing bit of a surprise. From “I religiously never go near your posts.  Please stay far away from mine” to many accusations that I’m the “most pompous” and even “crashingly faux pompous”. I note however that these messages of admiration come from those whom I’ve disagreed with in my posts in the past. So maybe it was not the post I made but the poster that so animated them. And of course it’s funny: I accuse them over being too focused on attacking the individual and not the argument – so in reply they attack the individual. Who’d have thought? It is as if irony is alive and well in W4. Then, even more hilariously, the thread descends into so many of these contributors back attacking each other. Well if there is one thing my loving admirers got right is that one should not criticize them or their posts. Ever. It does has no effect and they shoot the messenger. But, importantly, thanks are due to those who have noted my endeavours to avoid ad hominin attacks in my posts. I’m sure I’ve succumbed to occasional barbed comments to individuals. I know that many years ago this was a failing, so I have tried to address it.Lastly someone mentioned Brexit. They ask, in relation to people starting a thread that specifically aims to attack on individual: “Does that include your hundreds of Brexit posts which also demands answers from about 2 people constantly?” Well self-evidently, no, it does not. If it was a Brexit post (in a thread about Brexit) then this would clearly have been a post from me putting forward the case against Brexit. Not a case against an individual. And if the “hundreds of posts” that demand answers from a few people then that would be because these few people put forward a patently false claim in support of Brexit. That is not hounding the individual, but seeking substantiation of some claim that this individual made. That is, responding to the arguments in a post rather than simply attacking the individual. I do hope you can see the difference. If, in the past, I have started a thread which specifically and primarily sought to slight one of these individuals (perhaps titled “so and so is an idiot for their pathetic Brexit views”) then please do let me know but I very much doubt if such a thread exists. (And if this last paragraph came across as pompous then that is a failing on my part. It was actually intended to be condescending.)

Sorry I'm late..I'm afraid I steered very clear of the Brexit 'debate' on this forum.  However important it was for our country, the W4 version bored me to tears.  Far too much of it fuelled by staunch remainers (who should have known better) lecturing Janice on her mistaken ways? Forum ratings must have hit rock bottom.Anyhow, way before the election it was glaringly obvious to some of us remainers  that Jeremy Corbyn's version of the Labour party was a catastrophe waiting to happen.  Post election, and Johnson's huge victory, the only motion in town that made any sense to me was that it was the entire Labour movement who inadvertently and stupidly gave Britain brexit.  They handed it to Boris on a plate.  And beyond sectarian nonsense, Boris is nobody's fool. But that's all water under the bridge and neither here nor there.Getting back to AC.  He's obviously hurt by all this.  Inside his post, words like “hilarious” are always a dead giveaway and he well overcooks his faux keyboard “laughter”. I'm sorry about that.  But in reflection, I hope he'll reconsider the wisdom of his post (placed on two separate threads) that created such offence.  Go back, read again and think on....This business with JS-J and to a slightly lesser extent ST is unprecedented in this place.  I won't repeat the crude details here.  But I'll simply tell (not ask) you Alan:-  Don't you bloody well understand that me (and quite a few others close-by) know and fully understand every word you wrote?  And that I personally bitterly resented having you lecture me on the extreme bloody obvious.  It sniffed of someone trying to cheaply wrap themselves in the golden cloak of the high moral ground.Do you imagine we want all this?  Do you think we enjoy it?  Do you not realise we fully understand the futility of it all?  And the stupidity of it all?  Don't you imagine that rather than waste time in the J-20 gutter we've all got far more creative things to do with our time?Grrr – You really wanna forum riddled with teenage lavatorial invective?(PAUSE)  On an insignificant, unimportant local level, this is a high-stakes row taking place.  AC - You were foolish to jump in... However - and from what Alastair and Robert report about your performance on the brexit debate, I'm happy to accept your side of the story and their first-hand opinion of you.  So from me – sorry I'm not a fellow brexit (or covid) fan of yours Alan - but no hard feelings eh.
