People just not taking this seriously

Well I went to sainsburys this morning early to beat the crowds in mortlake - long walk ! A woman came behind me - really really closely dumping her shopping - no social distancing and no mask- I kindly asked her to give me a little room - she was extremely rude and said- this is no worse than flu- I reminded her again very politely that as I was elderly if she could stand back whilst I finished my small shop.. She laughed.. Why does sainsburys not stop this?

“ How are Sainsbury's going to stop this?”Same as Waitrose and Tesco and many other shops. Security and staff patrol and ORDER the selfish morons to step back and maintain distancing or throw them out of the shop and ban them from re-entering

Tesco has told its staff at Booker not to engage with those who do not abide by mask/distancing guidelines. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess its down to liability should the staff or customer get injured should the situation escalate.

All the big supermarkets have said they will not impose no mask or confront shoppers. Not sure about waitrose and M&S but where its a small store with one entry it may be easier for a few to not let you in. This has been common knowledge for over a month now. Its a case of knowing and shopping or ordering online. I was going to intervene on the back common near the water fountain where a guy was breaking up 4 kids sitting on the grass moanig they are breaking the law. 4 of them,the guy needs a lesson in what is acceptable and what is not and what is the restrictions andnot the law. Things are bad enough without some old git imposing his law on 4 kids sitting down on the grass. PS.I know of him for about 20 years, just a loud brash moaner.

And I very much doubt they adopt the same policy with shoplifters . Otherwise a cynic might suggest that for them "shrinkage" prevention is a greater priority than potentially putting the health of their customers at risk. Or that possibly relatively low spending "vulnerables" are a lesser priority than big spending "oiks".michael adams...
