A local gentleman to us had an older rescue dog, which then sadly passed away. He had found the dog at Battersea. Within a week or 2 (or a very short time for sure), the gentleman was once more out walking with a lovely older (10 years approx) dog - again from Battersea. The dog is his trip out every day, company during the day etc. - Gentleman is "as old as the dog", so Battersea do let older people adopt dogs/older dogs.
