Coronavirus Cases Spike in Chiswick
Story on front pageThis is down to the complacency of both local Chiswick customers and staff in our local shopping areas.I thought I would supplement our weekly shop by using the Co-Op on Station Parade, that was a big mistake on my part. The shop has a security guard at the main entrance, who could see that the shop was jammed packed with to many customers. You could not social distance, customers not adhering to the direction measures that are in place and staff seemed unaware of the amount customers in the store. When paying at the main counter, another customer who was looking over my shoulder to see how much more food I still had to unload, as I think they had only one item. Now with a person standing directly behind you, what do you do?Turn around and ask them to move back , which may start an argument at close quarters or keep your back to them say nothing pay for your goods and turn away to the opposite side they are standing.I chose to say quiet and leave without me or them speaking.Until Chiswick residents can play by the Covid-19 rules, I'm off out of Chiswick to shop at a reasonably safely run supermarket, where you stand half a chance of not catching Covid-19.The Co-Op concerned was contacted and my thoughts made know.
