Dear Bernard I think you've misunderstood the purpose of Tony Smart's post, it was a none too subtle dig at David's business, but enough now said on that matter.Yes, agreed, people do go by personal recommendations, checking out various websites for customer feedback or they may just try out a different eatery for a change.What we dont want to happen are anymore local independent businesses to cease trading. This afternoon I walked up to Chiswick Pets as I needed to change a new dog collar I bought yesterday and got chatting to the lovely Allan, he said business has nowhere near picked up to pre Covid-19 times but somehow Chiswick Pets would survive and hallelujah for that. I asked what he thought the reason was for the slow pick-up and he said closure of Devonshire Road and that the many customers who drove there were unwilling to risk taking the chance of getting a Penalty Notice. Just as worryingly he also said that he'd heard that at least 4 other businesses were doubtful they'd still be trading after Christmas and would either shut down completely or were looking to relocate outside of LB Hounslow !!!So well done LB Hounslow for ill conceived road closures and anyone else who posts negative things about our lovely independent businesses- please think about what you write on social media in such difficult trading conditions. If you can't say anything positive please say nothing 🙊🙊🙊
