South Parade Road Closure This Tuesday

According to this site's list of road closures South Parade is to be shut tomorrow to allow Thames Water to dig it up to fix a dodgy main. The closure will be by the junction with Acton Lane. As this is now the only way for traffic to go north to south, this raises the question which way will it be diverted?

Kevin, a question I wondered myself. It will be interesting to see. I suspect the answer will be nowhere, traffic expected to divert the long way via Goldhawk Rd, or cut through the back streets to reach Bollo Lane.

The interesting thing is when you look at the closures, the changes to traffic lights and the new CS9 plans, neither TFL or Hounslow care about local journeys. If you want to get a bus along the High Rd or a cyclist and CS9 happens to go where you want, fine. If you need to drive or cycle across the A4 or the Distict/ Pic lines for whatever reason, tough. Sit in queues and pollution.With more people working from home, why does TFL only look at routes in and out of London. This does not reflect the needs of local people.

I cycled by there earlier today and there was no sign of any roadworks

I clicked on the link and the date now given for these works is 27 October - it was amended this morning.
