Surprised W4.com hasn't covered the recent spike in corona in Ealing. Julian Bell was, interviewed on the BBC today saying he was worried and exhorting everyone to obey the rules. He didn't come over well, unfortunately and someone really needs to help him writing his Ealing council blog, it is very poor. His favourite word seems to be 'now.'

What, a spike in positive testing for a virus in perfectly healthy people? We're all full of viruses. It's normal. Wake up you silly moo..
Michael Brown ● 2254d
Is silly moo allowed.
Janice Evans ● 2254d
Personally, I would have chucked her off a long time ago.
Naughty Michael, we have to watch our language.
Not only is everyone's patience tested by your off-the-wall nonsense but the ladies have to put up with your misogynistic insults. Your reply to Claire was unworthy of anyone but a modern day Alf Garnett.

The concerns of Cllr Bell were reported on this site two weeks ago. There hasn't been a significant increase in cases in the borough since then. Article here.
Kevin Howard ● 2254d
That's not true, Kevin. Cllr Bell was quoting 28 cases in the last week that he had figures for. According to the latest figures, weekly totals have been:w/e 10 Aug 36w/e 17 Aug 48w/e 24 Aug 66Note that the figures I quoted in my previous mail included only areas with at least 3 cases.
Oh, don't worry I no longer read any of this misogynistic certifiable idiot's posts. Along with a few others including Alan Clark who seems to be giving the forum an extremely wwelcome rest.
Claire Moran ● 2254d
Well hello: another loving name-check from Clare. This must be the tenth time; she is truly obsessed. I feel blessed. But she needs to work harder on her facts. Last time I replied to one of her posts I actually was agreeing with her. (I know, she ignored that as her fixation runs hot and cold it seems.) So I’m lost as to why she feels so slighted. Now she claims I’ve been absent for some time. Yet I posted on a thread here just yesterday. She really needs to pay more attention. And finally, may I object to my name being used along side the “misogynist” accusation. I can see that claim was directed at another, but there is a taint of ‘by implication’ also others, only one who I’ll name. I’d welcome a clarification Clare.

Number of hospitals in the uk 1257 Number of covid cases in the uk in hospital 764 and 60 patients on ventilation. updated on Saturday 29 August 2020 at 4:00pm
Julian Pavey ● 2253d
What’s the relevance, Richard? The human body is full of viruses; and we have an immune system to deal with any harmful invasions hence 99.5%+ of people are unaffected by ‘covid’. The average age of the 0.5%- who die ‘with’ covid is about 80, and they normally have other health issues. Don’t you think we should be helping those with weak immune systems rather than knocking on doors of healthy people to see if they test positive for ‘covid’ and stop further destruction of society now?
Michael Brown ● 2253d
While the percentage increases can make things look alarming the absolute number remains low for an area with a population of over 340,000 people. An increase from a very low base was inevitable as lockdown eases but the evidence so far from other countries has been that even with a rise in cases there hasn't been a similar increase in hospital admissions or deaths. This is probably because most new cases are among younger people. Those that are most vulnerable have learnt to take precautions. Cllr Bell has been banging on about stricter enforcement even before this recent pick up in numbers. My suspicion would be that he sees it as a potential revenue stream for a cash-strapped council.
Kevin Howard ● 2253d
It's accepted that the PCR test is unreliable, so there will always be a number of false positives; so maybe none of these people have got 'covid'. In any event, 'covid' is here to stay under these rules.
I see Clark has posted so unfortunately not the one Kerr said was banned, what a sheme. Won't be reading his post nor any more from nutter Brown, they are both, in every post, ridiculous.
Claire Moran ● 2253d
Most of those 60 will die. Ventilation is a last resort and may actually accelerate death. My friends have been told that I do not want to be put on a ventilator for any reason whatsoever were I to be in a position where it is suggested.
It’s extremely unlikely that the PCR test would generate solely false positives (unless no one was infected with the virus). Possible as you say Michael, but extremely, extremely unlikely.
Andrew Jones ● 2253d
It wouldn't need to generate 'solely' false positives. 1 in a 100 does more than enough damage.
Michael Brown ● 2252d
If you're making a comparison to possible false negatives, these can't reasonably be compared if there are vastly more people who don't have the virus, which seems to be the case.
Stupid people always think they are right. Wise people listen to advice

Showing yet again what a low life you are “third” boy calling Claire a moo, unacceptable. The only moo on this forum is you mad cow with your daily dosage of Covid tripe denial which is soooooooooo boring. Do us all a favour.
Lighten up James!I’d rather be called a “silly moo” than a “low life”.This is a discussion forum after all.
Georgina Flint ● 2252d
I am sure that most women would disagree with you about being called a silly moo but I will agree that a low life is rather distasteful but well deserved.
Week 33:Deaths where the underlying cause was respiratory disease (ICD-10 J00-J99) = 852 Deaths where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate (ICD-10 U07.1 and U07.2) = 139So influenza and other respiratory diseases is now more deadly than Covid-19.(Source: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/datasets/weeklyprovisionalfiguresondeathsregisteredinenglandandwales)
Andy Riley ● 2252d
I wasn't making (or even thinking about) a comparison to possible false negatives. You said that perhaps none of these reported cases were actually infected, and I simply pointed out that this seemed highly unlikely to me.Of course,if you increase the number of tests undertaken then assuming that you do get false positives (and I understand that you do) it wouldn't be surprising that among the numbers of correctly reported infections there would also be more false positives.
Andrew Jones ● 2252d
I don’t know what the false positive rate is likely to be; but let’s assume it’s 0.5% and tests are carried out on 340,000 people in a borough where no-one has the virus. It would be reported that 1,700 people in the borough have tested positive for the virus and there would be calls for isolations/restrictions/lockdown/shutdown etc. This is the phase of the scam we’re now in.
That's true and a danger if you look at things in a simplistic "lets test everyone" way. However if you are suspected at being at a higher risk of infection than the general populace (because you've been contacted by track and trace, because you live in a household that has someone who has COVID or is infected etc.) you are currently more likely to be tested than someone in the general populace. It's not the absolute number of positive cases that's important. In your hypothetical example if 1700 people tested positive one week and a similar number tested positive the next week, there isn't cause for concern (IMHO) assuming that the false positive detection rate is unlikely to change over time.

... and switch your brain off
Better to look at the 7 day moving average Michael - if there were 3 deaths the next day you wouldn’t be saying that Covid deaths have gone up 50% would you?
The BBC report the daily reported figure every single day to millions, and with no mention of what the other 1,500 or so people died of. Drop them a line.
Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala
Not a great contribution I have to say - unless you were doing Hey Jude, and if so, too many las
I thought they mentioned rolling averages as well as the daily figures during some of the news but if not, listen to 'more or less' (on Radio4) ... I trust that programme more than any official statistics or daily numbers
Andrew, why would you listen to radio 4 let alone any other news outlet when we are kept informed by our Covid guru Mickey Brown the 3rd. His you tube videos he regularly posts on here, complimented by his daily Covid is fake news is much more accurate, after all, David Ike, his hero is the messiah. So turn the radio off and come join the Michael Brown lalalalalalala world where Covid does not exist. Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala
James Smith-Jones ● 2251d
Even with all the fiddling, only 41k UK deaths have been attributed to 'covid', and half of these were murdered by the government in care homes. Just under 30k people died of the flu 5 years ago, and was barely mentioned.
Michael Brown ● 2251d
" unless you were doing Hey Jude, and if so, too many las"Isn't it nahnahnahnah rather than lalalala??
Steve Taylor ● 2251d
oh morning Mickey boy, what's it like waking up in lalalalalalalalalala land. Thought I could smell something bad, can you smell it?
Good to see you back James after you banned yourself
Paul Fisher ● 2251d
You're right
Andrew Jones ● 2251d
good to be back Paul, but the smell coming from lalalalalalala land these last few days have been particularly bad, can you not smell it. ah maybe you have covid if your sense of smell is not up to scratch. See I am in the real world and been following the rules with all my family safe and I have a sense of duty for my fellow beings particularly the elderly who are living in fear of this dreadful epidemic. If we all followed the rules perhaps "only 41k UK deaths have been attributed to 'covid'" would have been less.
From Simon Dolan's Twitter page:Simon Dolan #KBF RetweetedJesusisKing@IrishLass2020·23hDay 1 back to school.Half day 4 1/2 hours, masks had to be worn both children unwell now. 1 in bed with migraine & other with rash on nose & lightheaded.
