King Street Hammersmith. Tumbleweed and Beggars

I ventured a little further afield today for the first time since lockdown as I had a medical appointment in Hammersmith. Very shocked to see the state of the high street many shops closed or closing and beggars in every doorway.

Sadly Chiswick isn't much better. So many empty shops and homeless folk

Beccy Thorp ● 2262d

Empty shops? The last shop I went into purposefully late in the evening hoping to avoid couldn't-care-less-scumbags had said scumbag shoppers not at all caring of social-distancing, and few wearing a Corona-mask. Scumbags one 'n all. Thank goodness shops are shut so that unmasked Corona-scumbags aren't proliferating.

Bobbie Carnegie ● 2262d

Did you get a job lot on using scumbags as a keyword on Google, Bobbie?

Claire Moran ● 2262d

No - I got it off 'Ken' who utilised said 'scumbag word' when he (Ken) accosted a media troll that waylaid said "Ken" outside his (Ken's) family home some years ago.

The closed shops in Kings Mall are, to a large part, because Ikea are opening a big store there.Watch Hammersmith fly when that happens.

Adrian Irving ● 2262d

Why would anyone want to shop at IKEA?

Steve Taylor ● 2262d

Totally agree with Bobbie.  Too many morons out there to risk shopping.

Steve Taylor ● 2262d

Steve, I quite  understand your thinking. After all  I don't think they sell knitting needles or wool.

Adrian Irving ● 2261d

Yes,Steve.You should stay at home.

Lidl is also going to open at King's Mall. Will probably be popular, judging by the queue to get into the Lidl in the W12 Centre at Shepherds Bush Green last Sunday.  One of the only large shops where you still have to queue to get in.

Adam ONeill ● 2261d

Thats goodabout lidl  at last those inflated gcse marked students will have a job to go to....i'll get me coat

Mick Collins ● 2261d

Yep,tried staying home but eventually needed some milk and bread. But then the pubs and restaurants opened. Think ive been to more resturants in the last month than ever before. Support local shops and the economy. STAY AT HOME

Why would anyone want to shop at IKEA?Cinnamon biscuits!

N V Brooks ● 2261d

Well said, Claire. I dislike the way some people resort to this word in relation to antisocial behaviour, or for that matter call anyone who they think has less common-sense than themselves as "morons".

Robert Fish ● 2261d

"I dislike the way some people resort to this word in relation to antisocial behaviour, or for that matter"Why?  Are you just happy for the scumbags to walk all over you?

Steve Taylor ● 2261d

You didn`t see the cowboys and indians smoking peace pipes? Hoot Hoot.

Trevor Conway ● 2259d

"Steve, I quite  understand your thinking."No you don't. As someone once said - an idiot doesn't know they are an idiot simply because they are an idiot.

https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/davids-hat-knitting-pattern-by-linda-moorhouseNow now Steve take it easy, here's a pattern for a bobble hat just like Boris was wearing on his hols.Knitting will calm you down and, best of all,  keep your fingers of your keyboard.

Adrian Irving ● 2259d

"keep your fingers of your keyboard."I would of cept my fingers of my quayboard but I veld it best to try ejucate the idjutts, morons and silly dicks..

Steve Taylor ● 2259d

Yes, Steve you seem to see an awful lot of people as below your high intellectual level.Anyway, I hope you like my choice as I see you as a bobble hat sort of guy.

Adrian Irving ● 2259d

“Yes, Steve you seem to see an awful lot of people as below your high intellectual level.“Mmmm. Although I had you pegged as an obtuse thicko, you have somehow got that one right. Perhaps there is some hope for you, Ado.

Steve Taylor ● 2259d

Oh dear Steve. My suggestion you take up knitting to calm you down doesn't seem to be working.  I'm sorry about that but sometimes one has to accept defeat.

Adrian Irving ● 2259d

"I'm sorry about that but sometimes one has to accept defeat."No problem, Ado. Admitting that you are a loser is a good first step to your on-line therapy. Embrace it and try to learn from it. It may just make you a happier bunny if you accept it.
