So from January 1st 2021 a pet passport will be required to take a pet to Northern Ireland . I thought the PM had sworn there would be ‘unfettered access’ Doesn’t sound that unfettered.

Just thinking Stewart that this requirement may be because many people access the south via NI as that is their most straightforard route. In that comment I'm assuming that a pet passport is/will be a requirement for the Republic.

Pet passports issued in the UK will cease to be valid. To go to any EU country from any non EU country you will need a whole range of documentation.

Saw something about this on TV and they reckoned it could take months to get all the documents together, another wonderful benefit brought to us courtesy of Brexit. Taking back control!

Yes and also the principle that from January there will be a bureaucratic and more expensive obstacle to people moving freely (with their pets) between countries within the United Kingdom. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.
The PM says a lot of things, it all depends on his medication that particular day on what to follow through. Bless him.
