Rima, it's a lovely thought and I know exactly whom you mean. I have passed her several times on Sutton Court Road and always feel also, that she seems so vulnerable. I have actually asked her a couple of times if she'd like any help but she is, quite rightly, fiercely proud and independent and always politely refuses. I would love to know that she at least has some family or friends who are looking out for her. I hope so.

Hi Rima and Janice The lady you speak of and have described is the Mother of one of my best friends. To put it kindly this lady is a bit of a character and somehat cantankerous, and does not always take kindly to well intentioned advice, not even from her daughter !Unfortunately if any unscrupulous and non law abiding citizens, who may read this Forum, now have a good description of her, the jewellery she wears as well as the area she lives.Regards Loraine

But Rima, that lovely golden ring which glitters in your beady eye will be even more vulnerable when left home alone, pls dont forget Eastern Europeans with sticky fingers watch for empty houses, if you have it be proud to wear it and enjoy wearing it, pointless otherwise.

I see this wonderful lady most days, and her fierce independence is illustrated simply by the fact that she makes a daily journey along Sutton Court Road to CHR. I can only hope that she stays safe and wish her all the best. She is an inspiration.

Before this thread is removed I would just like to say that I am shocked and appalled at the comments being made.The reason for me making it known that I had just seen her slowly making her way along in the heat is that :-a) on a previous thread, concerns had been made about her not having been seen lately.b) as she was pushing her trolley along her rings were very obviously visible and we are well aware that elderly people have been followed and attacked for handbags, jewellery and cash.I didn’t know where she lived or that she has a daughter nearby.I was wearing a mask and about to get on a 272 bus so suggested that a local PCSO might be able to have a kindly word with her regarding her safety, whether the rings were valuable or not.Now we have the road she lives in, her daughter, her personality and a lot of opinions being made. She is of course entitled to refuse to leave her rings or at least one of them at home and that would be entirely her decision.However it now seems that she is quite a character who will one day be fondly remembered by the local community.
