At least Ian Botham is a Great British Hero, and when he blasts birds out of the sky to feed himself (and others) at least they almost always have a very quick death.Compare him to household cats, which are the single biggest cause of death of garden birds in London. They are disgustingly cruel, taking great pleasure in mauling beautiful birds and furry cuddly mice to a very slow death: and don't even eat them. One can only hope that, unlike dogs, they don't take after their owners.
