The ideal shopping trolley...with a seat?

Stuart's thread about supporting local traders includes revelation that some forum contributors have entered the world of shopping trolleys to save their bodies from strain.  I'm all of a sudden excited about having such a vehicle. Should it be 2 wheel or 4 wheel? Some apparently have a collapsible seat attached. And what colour or brand for easing down Turnham Green Terrace?And do you find you nod at other trolleys coming towards you? Suggestions welcome. Will purchase locally of course!

I have a Rolser. Can be 2 or 4 wheel operation. Much better looking than a sholley. It’s often admired. Fetching design too.

Jim, neither 2 nor 4 wheels but 3.  If you want a seat, an adult shopping tricycle is the answer, as several Chiswickians have already discovered. But personally I’m holding out for a shopping Segway.

Thank you Janice,Maureen and Alastair for your replies...I'm taking this seriously now as I had to hump a modest weight of shopping tonight..and the new SPARKS BAG from M&S was too wide and kept crashing into my legs and not at all pleasant.I'll need rubber wheels to avoid that vibration on pathways etc...and something that will squeeze easily down some shopping isles...like Rymans.Yes a shopping Segway would be a laugh..but I can hardly balance with simple walking stick let alone on Segway!But carrying heavy shopping is not wise for us oldies...so I'll follow up your suggestions. Thanks.

I bought my in-laws one with a seat but they found it too big (the wheels stuck out too much) so they bought another narrower one.  There are some of them which are better at crawling up steps - they have an interesting wheel combination on each side.Some double as walkers and go through doorways that others don't and some flatten more easily when being transported so are more flexible - walk one way and get a lift back.  But beware of hills!  There is room for more and better design on the market.

That one looks interesting Viv.  I haven't looked for any feedback on it though.There is an advert for a rather bright bag which turns into a trolley that I keep getting.  It looks lovely but the feedback on it is absolutely dreadful. Maybe it is a turf war?  How do you know who you can trust?
