Hello Chiswick!Does anyone know if Fisher Lane underpass- is now closed to vehicular traffic? Drove through it this morning (27th July), no signs, no nothing. Worried I might have a ticket!Thank you.

Hopefully no signs means not. But wouldn't put anything past local councils. Both Ealing and Hounslow are autocratic, unfair and horrendous.

I walked through yesterday and didn't see either signs or cameras so no chance of you getting a fine.

Advance warning signs going up this morning outside Chiswick Park station to say Fishers Lane railway bridge will be closed from 31st July.

That's good news!

Yup, signs going up on High Road now.

At least this closure shouldn't have an EXCEPT FOR ACCESS exclusion so, unlike TGT, there should be no traffic at all except for cycles and the occasional bus. Thus it might be safe enough for pedestrians to walk in the road to avoid the narrow elevated pavement. And what better way to discourage non-compliant vehicles than a phalanx of prams and buggies and children spread across the road! Removing the redundant mini-roundabout at the junction with South Parade would also make the new arrangements more obvious.
"what better way to discourage non-compliant vehicles than a phalanx of prams and buggies and children spread across the road!" A camera? Without one, as with Turnham Green Terrace, the access restrictions are likely to be widely ignored. And I wouldn't recommend taking a pram under the bridge. I took a chance with my family that it was safer on the road than the walkway and we ended up playing chicken with a bus.

Years ago when my uncle was campaigning against speeding traffic in a particular residential road, he had an old pram which he gently launched out into the road in front of approaching miscreants. It produced an immediate speed reduction!
It's frightening how many thoughtless parents/carers do that.

The sign in front of the Health Centre says the closure will be effective from 31st July ie this Friday.

Yep, closed today, cycled through it, sign (not very visible especially if your concentrating on other cars on the roundabout as you enter it) and massive cycle paintings on the roads either sides.I'll guess I'd drive another route now which will take longer and probably cause more pollution.
