Who likes wearing a mask?!

Understandably there are medical reasons & exemptions of other sorts that apply. But the rules are that everyone else has to wear them in shops. For people to say that they don't LIKE wearing them because they are hot, uncomfortable, sweaty, glasses steam up, ghastly, restricting, unattractive etc etc. is ridiculous. Nobody LIKES wearing one, but we all have to get on with it in order to protect everyone else. Nobody enjoys wearing one, or would actively choose to wear one. You're not a special case if you don't like wearing one!

I was about to post along the same lines Gina.I’d rather wear a mask than lie on my front in a Covid ward or know that I had unwilling infected someone. People that refuse to wear them are selfish idiots.

Put your mask on as soon as you’ve popped your favourite chocolate in your mouth, and wear it while watching your favourite programme. It might help to get wearing one associated with good things.

I understand that some masks or face coverings are more uncomfortable than others to wear.  Maybe you need to try another type if you are struggling to wear the one that you have.  I understand that some people are supposed to be exempt but that of course doesn't mean that they can't still wear one.https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own#Are shops themselves suggesting that people should wear them?

Mine are NHS standard supplied by one of my best friends, and as uncomfortable as it is I will continue to wear it until told otherwise. I'm just not prepared to put anyone at risk when I have to shop. Stay safe and be responsible everyone 🤞

I feel indifferent if I’m honest, I don’t really notice when I have one one - a bit like a great pair of shoes that you forget you’re wearing?!

Agree Ellie.  Find wearing one quite hard what with specs., and oxygen tubes already hooked over my ears.  I use my common sense (if one is still permitted to have that!) and wear a mask where I think other people might view me as a risk or where I cannot avoid them and they are a risk to me.Such a lot of stupid ignorant people out there - it's very simple why are they complicating matters - be unselfish for a start!  Understand that if you fiddle with the mask once on, your hands are then contaminated and will contaminate all and every surface you then touch - put the bloody mask on and let it be until you can safely remove it to a bag for safe disposal or washing later.

I was in Metro Bank today . None of the 10 staff working were wearing masks and i guess only a third of visiting customers. I was told on Saturday that i did not need a mask running my booth in Portobello Rd but the visiting customers did. What on earth is the logic of this? . Tis twaddle i fear . Later i was in Acton Vale PO and it was about the same ratio. Whilst i can see back in March/ April there was some cause  to wear them i just dont get what Boris and his his scientific crew think this mass disobedience is going to do other than get him unelected and upset the populous

John it’s about interpreting the rules if you can social distance no need for mask if not wear a mask. It’s a hard one either we all wear masks 100% of the time indoors and out or we are given some freedom based upon the circumstances. Spain have just reintroduced masks 100% of the time including when walking even if street is empty. Best be safe and wear one.

It may be something to do with how long you'd have to wear them. I'm in the supermarket for 20 minutes, max, so have no problem wearing a mask, but the staff are there all day and I wouldn't want to wear one all day.

"Spain have just reintroduced masks 100% of the time including when walking even if street is empty."I read a report that everyone in Spain was already wearing masks in the street, but the masks came off as soon as they got indoors to make conversation easier.  That could explain the recent rise in new cases.

The problem with masks is that you have to tear a small hole in them if you fancy a fag. And people stare at you if you've got a Woodbine billowing smoke out of your mask while you're strolling down to the pub.

I think the old tobacconist(Shearer's?) sell some of the old fashioned coffin nails.I spied a packet of Senior Service,which I sometimes smoked, in there a little while ago.You may be able to get a packet of woodies in there.

I used to work on the ad accounts for Wills brands, including Passing Wind and Passing Water cigarettes.The Wills people were greqat fun. They turned up at the agency one morning on a day out in London from Bristol, and asked for some creative ideas for a new and unnamed brand.Someone found a photo of a couple smoking in bed, and scribbled the headlines:-After Action, SatisfactionAfter A Shag, A FagAfter A Poke, A SmokeWe also handled the Three Nuns pipe tobacco account, and were shocked to see the top half of a page in the Daily Mail which screamed (about trouble in the Beigian Congo) "Simbas Rape Two Nuns". At about 4 o'clock this afternoon I saw a bloke at the bus stop near Wyndhams Butchers on the High Road wearing nothing but a yellow stetson hat, a knee-length see-thru ladies negligee and a face mask covering his pecker. The police were running up the pavement from the copshop to poke their noses into his private muse. I hope the bus driver allowed him on, recognising a Great British Eccentric.
