EASY LIFE FROST FREE SPRAY

Has anyone used this product - it's a frost free spray that claims to defrost your freezer and frig quickly and safely.

I would take a look at the online reviews - they are not at all good.

Put a bowl of hot water in the fridge that will defrost it faster and better than using sprays.

I would use bowls of hot water. Very quick and keep changing regularly when water cools

All very well for the supple and fit, that's and what I used to do and my lovely cleaner used to to but not so sure I'll now be very safe with bowls of boiling water. Also lots of old towels required to mop up freezer and floor. Maybe I'd be safe enough to allow my cleaner back in my hose for this one job if she wears a mask, gloves and foot covers. Is that spray stuff very dangerous?

Not dangerous, it just doesn't work that well TBH.

You definitely don't need boiling water, an oven tray with a large surface area and warm water will get things going and time passing means ice will melt anyhow if the freezer is switched off and the door is open. And any means of defrosting will mean there's melted water to mop up. Whether it's a spray or not.

I recently had to defrost a freezer. I waited for hot day. I turned off the freezer and left the door open. Nothing happened for about 45 mins and then it started to defrost very fast. As was mentioned towels were needed. I left it for about half a day and it became dry which I put down to the temperatue.

I had to defrost a freezer fast in a weekend trip. I reduced the contents as much as possible beforehand and froze some freezer blocks. That way I could keep the remaining contents cold while I did it. A cool box and insulated bags also helped. Newspapers are good insulation and good to soak up water. Baking trays are good to collect any lumps of falling ice before it melts.
