Hi Georgina, thanks for your kind comment. If the keys you found were house keys then, in my experience, the owner may well have arranged to change the locks by tomorrow, such is the fear of being burgled. Huge cost.I have many experiences of being reunited with things I have lost. 2 examples: 1) I collected a friend to go away for a weekend on a canalboat. We much looked forward to it with good weather forecast. An hour later my friend got a phone call "we've found your friends lost phone". I hadn't even realised I'd lost it, but I must have dropped it outside my friends house. My friend knew the caller (next door neighbour)and they looked after my phone for the duration of the wonderful weekend we then had: all because I'd put my friends mobile number on outside of my phone. The alternative doesn't bear thinking. 2) I left my phone on a train but no phone call to my friend. I was all set to go to Paddington the next day just in case it was handed in there. My friend had "find MY phone" and sent me a map of it's location. I instantly recognised it as Reading lost property office! Late in the evening I caught the next train there. "No phones have been handed in today. We close in half an hour". I persevered, insisting I KNEW my phone was the other side of their door. And 10 minutes later "here is your phone, exactly as you describe". These days there are so many ways to find lost property. I even have a "find my hearing aids" app on my phone :) !
