What's the problem with Michael Brown????

If you check sister site HammersmithToday.com then you can clearly see on 8th May 2020 Michael Brown having his name dragged through the dirt on their forum page.Person responsible should be ashamed! How childish 😔 was under the impression we lived in a freedom of speech society, evidently dark forces at work hidden in their gloomy box room glued to a computer screen, very very sad state of affairs 😔 possible mental health issues???Hope one day (in a covid19 free future) forum users will have the decency to attend (anonymously) a social night down The Pilot, sure there will be plenty to discuss......or does that only happen behind screen savers?Could be quite fun!?!?

Well you tell me what Michael Brown's problem is.Aside from that, I've just looked at the Hammersmith equivalent to W4 and see that it is barely used. The majority of comments get no response at all (including the one by the OP), a number get 1 or 3 and then there is the all-time record, several pages in of 33. Not like W4 at all.

I had it done to me by a frequent contributor to this site. First I was accused of 'stalking' him and for ever popping up with something to say about something he had said which was demonstrably untrue - in fact, I wondered whether he had confused me with another contributor. When I replied that I wouldn't read any further posts from him he changed the subject line to ANNE ENGLAND - Stalker or some such. I will admit it quite upset me at the time.

What an extraordinary thread!  A frequent contributor to this forum pops up on another more or less uninhabited forum in May and gets zero responses.  Another frequent contributor to this forum pops up a while later on that other forum to name and shame the first poster and warn others of the supposed danger, again, with no response.Someone pops up here to alert us to this drama and we’re fascinated.  I wonder why.:-)

On reflection, I find that myself agreeing with you (about naming people in the title of a thread being pretty low).I hadn't really thought about that aspect of the original post. What prompted my post was the mention of abuse towards Michael (possibly by Roger), and he has done a lot of name-calling of his own, which was what I immediately thought of.But starting a thread naming someone in a title is pretty low, and I never thought otherwise. Like I said, I didn't think about that aspect.

Well Claire, no I have to disagree with you on this point.You see, I'm asking a question about why someone from the chiswickw4 site felt necessary to slander another member because they personally dislike them, it raises the whole judge and jury question.What do you feel gives someone the authority to do this over another? Totally agree with your last paragraph Beverly. You’re right. I always say if you’re not prepared to support your view from behind the screen face to face then stay quiet.Here’s a little tale.When I first joined this Forum too long ago, I was so incensed with the postings of Messrs Osbourne and Kerr I offered to meet them face to face. We didn’t for whatever reason. It just didnt happen. But through a very happy combination of circumstances, were all good mates now!Although I still think they talk bollocks sometimes. Beverley, I think a lot of people on this forum love to vent and, as often as not, it’s a result of jumping to wrong conclusions about a posting.  I think what happened here is that some people foolishly interpreted your heading as meaning ‘What’s MB’s problem?’ i.e. an attack on the man and so those who like or at least tolerate him sprung to his defence and another group who see him as a ‘danger’ roared back.  And you got caught in the crossfire.  Completely unfair on you, but typical of this forum.

Whatever. The problem is the promotion of ill founded and ill conceived theories. These influence thinking in the ill informed. This is bad info leading to bad thinking leading to bad decisions. Ask if you want examples. Mr Brown is a promoter of bad info. And thus a promoter of ill informed thinking. Most oft that is harmless pish. But sometimes not. You ask the question: what is the problem? The answer is that Brown promotes false information. That such false information leads to ill informed opinions. Clearly he is not alone in these efforts. But being one among many and even being pretty crap at it does make such lies ok. Now. Please defend his actions and claims. I welcome the dialogue.
