Rothschild Road

At around midnight last night/this morning we were awoken by a man walking up the street - apparently checking the small drain covers... Seemed both an odd thing to do and an odd time to be doing it?!! Can anyone shed light on this please???

Much is done at night Thames water do most of its pressure and possible leaks during night time hours.

Almost certainly it's Thames Water hunting  for leaks. They use some sort of long ear-trumpet to listen to the pipes. Obviously the dead of night is the ideal time to do it, though it can be quite alarming - they're not particularly quiet themselves!
