Clorinated chicken will not harm you, it's a health precaution. GM foods are not supposed to kill you, it just means more chemicals are used to increase the crop yields. It is the way all and any mass, bulk produced food is grown. Animals stuffed full of chemicals and anti-biotics. As a single person I buy organic meat and poultry, where the animals are raised humanely. I appreciate many, especially those with hungry families, cannot. Life isn't fair - unfortunately it costs much more to buy UK grown produce and organic food, if you want it, you have to pay for it and that's a fact of life. You have to budget accordingly - give up booze, stop smoking, try and grown some things yourself. Learn to cook cheaper UK cuts.No idea how UK foods from small farms can be made less expensive when our labour costs are so high. Our farms of all sizes need our full support they are the caretakers of our beautiful countryside as well. Ideally battery farmed poultry and meat should be banned but then the nation would starve - we've become accustomed to cheap food and keep demanding more and more of it. As a consequence, batteries continue and we import much of our basic foods in addition of course exotic fruits and vegetables.
