Wellesley Road closure signage

Morning, Probably a message for Guy, but I was hoping something better could be done about the current signage of the impending road closure. They have clearly been made up in a bit of a rush, and understandably with limited resources I guess. However, They are hard to read (small letter size) and i only saw them when i was making an effort to look for them following posts on here. It's certainly good that you are making an attempt to warn people in advance, however, I think the signs will need to be much clearer to have any impact.  Cheers.

Thanks Rob.I agree, though I did notice the sign as I pedalled by up CHR yesterday.As I mentioned in my blog last week, road signs are the new PPE - very high demand at present so makeshift ones are the best we can manage.I'll ask the guys to have another go, but from experience, a significant percentage of drivers assume 'Road Closed' signs apply to other people not to them (have I heard that somewhere else recently?)

Closure of access to the S Circular at Stile Hall Gardens will mean a big reduction of traffic along Brooks Rd.Previously about 1200 cars used Brooks Rd and Stile Hall Gardens as a short cut to the S Circular each weekday.  This was measured before closure of Hammersmith Bridge to motor traffic so the figure prior to lockdown was likely even higher.A quick look at Google Street view and Google Satellite shows about 250-300 vehicles in the area concerned.  If someone wants to do a more accurate count, please do.2011 census figures were 279 people who commuted by car in the area, and this is also covers properties south of the railway line.People in the area already used Brooks Rd for journeys to the east, north and west so the only additional trips will be those previously taken via the S Circular.There is no way the increased trips will be anywhere near the reduced volume of rat running traffic, so there will be a large net reduction of traffic along Brooks Rd.That's good, isn't it?The petition seems to be somewhat muddled.  If the road has been closed several time because of a water main, then the most important thing is ensuing the water main is fixed for good.  If it isn't, then it will just need to be resurfaced again after the next winter.The petition is also asking for removal of parking along Brooks Rd.  I don't recall this being asked for when there were a lot more vehicles using Brooks Rd so why is it a problem with less?
