Whilst the proposed health centre is 397 square metres smaller than the existing one, isn't it more about the quality of the facilities provided within the centre than its size ?. As the planning consultants also point out, the site brief for this site within LBH's Draft Site Allocations DPD indicates a minimum development quantum of 2129 square metres for the re-provision of the health centre, whereas this scheme provides 2636 square metres (although the same quantum also suggests at least 2120 square metres for leisure/assembly usage).Note that of the 47 resi units proposed none are to be 'affordable', but to me that's not a surprise given the need for the numbers to stack up when the scheme incorporates the re-provision of the health centre. As for design, as I always say one person's heaven is another's hell, it's not within a Conservation Area, although it is just outside the boundaries of the Chiswick Town Centre Conservation Area. Which, in my personal view, isn't the 'greatest' conservation area in the world and was largely designated in a rush by LBH when it had so little time to prevent the Packhorse & Talbot from demolition. No professional involvement for or against the scheme I should add.
