They are now not showing us how we are relating in deaths to the rest of the world with their dreadful way of keeping the truth from us- Starma asked the pm about this two days ago... interesting!!

They've pointed out many times that countries collate their deaths information in different ways so the figures cannot really be compared.  The only reliable figures will be the retrospective 'additional deaths' stats when they are published.

Nonetheless they didn't mind giving international stats when the UK was trailing. Now we're in pole position it's suddenly become 'irrelevant'. There's spin, there's Tory spin and then there's Johnson spin.

When the pandemic started everyone was operating blind and they produced data accordingly, comparing countries  they also said consistently  that the charts were meaningless because of different counting methods, I think the key is that cases are coming down, we all have to be careful because covid is here to stay.

It shouldn’t be here to stay. If it is really reduced and then contacts are rigorously followed up and isolated, it is possible to extinguish it, like smallpox was.  It just needs a worldwide agency with enough money - how about a WHO with lots of contributions and help from countries that can afford it? Oh no, what a stupid idea, we’ve got Mr Trump.

We only got rid of smallpox because there was a vaccine - and it still took years.  Let's hope we get one for this pandemic.
