Chiswick Rate Books 1874 to 1905
When I was researching the Sulhamstead Estate I found some information in the Kellys Directories which are easy to read and understand. After I ran out of those to look at, I started looking at the Rate Books. I took loads of photos that were for me to study and I didn’t intend to publish them, but as I cannot go to the library to look at more of them, I’ve started a website.I have added all the photos I have taken so far and I have indexed them as well. The list of place names goes from Alfred Cottages to Wilton Villas, with a few other places that no longer exist and lots that do. There is the High Road from Bleak House to Devonshire Road and the Glebe Estate from 1874-80. Lots of the Sulhamstead House/Estate from 1874-1905. There are a few pages around the Old Packhorse from 1881-87 because I hadn’t worked out what I was reading. There is also some of the ABC estate from 1895-99 and part of Homefield Road from 1894-1905.There are places like the Coach & Horses and part of Dale Street that appear because they were on the pages I was looking at. Chiswick House and a few other places are also there as well. When the Library reopens I am going to have a look at the books from 1873 to 1836, if anyone has any roads they want added in those years just let me know.https://chiswickratebooks.weebly.com/
