Lynn Faulds Wood

I know every death is a tragedy, from whatever cause.  I have been lucky enough to date to not know personally anyone who has died of coronavirus.  But sad to see Lynn Faulds Wood has died.  She was a great supporter of events around West London and of the media, as was her lovely husband.  Met them several times at various events and they were always charming and fun. She had battled bowel cancer and survived and was very active for bowel cancer charities.  She died apparently from a heart attack. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-52410491RIP, Lynn. Yes Claire, she was indeed a very nice lady who campaigned not only for a greater awareness of bowl cancer but also for vulnerable people. She and her equally lovely husband, John Stapleton, presented Watchdog for years and actively continued their quest to improve consumer rights from thereon. Our paths crossed many times at the school gates during the time our boys were at the same school, where they were both always warm and engaging. It would appear she had a massive stroke on Thursday evening shortly after they joined neighbours for the 8pm ‘clap’ for the NHS and all other essential workers. My condolences to her family, friends and all who had had the pleasure of knowing her.

Very saddened to learn that the lovely Lynn Faulds Wood has passed away. I thought she was a wonderful investigative journalist with great tenacity and am glad that last time I met her, that I had told her so. My sincere condolences to her lovely husband John Stapleton and their son Nick.

So sad that she survived both Bowel and Skin cancer and then this happened, life can be so very cruel. Sincere condolences.

Very sad to see this.  We've lost such a champion for consumer rights and someone who succeeded in making bowel cancer something that can be more easily talked about. Saw her discussing the newspaper headlines on BBC News 24 such a short while ago.  RIP.

So sad. Really wonderful human being. Lynn Faulds Wood did so much to help and encourage women journalists and their take on our society. She always recalled her own ill health and previous near misses with her characteristic chuckle. Her family reported a stroke/brain haemorrhage. RIP

Some reaally nice obituaries in the mainstream and other press. I hope John Stapelton, her husband, is coping, they were so close it must be very hard indeed for him.
