Strand on the Green PO

Update - my mother's post office will be closed for at least the rest of the month.Last week I think her post office was the only post office open in the whole of West London. As a result she was extremely busy and she stayed open long after the official closing time in order to help all customers.Unfortunately this has taken a toll on her health. She needs to be very careful given her underlying condition. To confirm, she does not have Covid-19 symptoms.I'll provide an update when the post office will be open again. Hopefully by that time other post offices will re-open to ease the pressure on my mother's post office.

Look after your family and stay safe, that is what matters at the momemt

Julian Pavey ● 2389d

Very well said Julian - and am sure everyone posting on here (with one exception) sends their thanks and very best wishes to your mother.

Well being on the other side of the pond in chiswick ive never met Mrs Joshi but certainly has an array of good words. I only know Milan over the years for his radio appearances on LBC and his love for the cinema.

Still hitting a nerve Jennifer LOL your right i couldn't care less !!

Lorraine Harrison ● 2388d

If you don't care, why are you still posting your illiterate "thoughts"?Milan - thanks for the update and all the best to your mother.

Just for general information, the Post Office at the back of Smiths in Kings Mall, Hammersmith is still operating Mon-Fri and Sat am.

Milan please wish Mrs. Joshi all the very best and tell her her health come first. We will all be waiting eagerly for her return!Just wanted to add that I have been a local resident for over 22 years and Mrs. Joshi has been and is a pillar of the local community. She has held the spare keys for numerous families in the local area- in case children ever became locked out- taken in and looked after my own children in the shop during emergencies, trained local children in maths and helped many elderly residents..etcI have links to the local school and I cannot believe the claims of this 'local person' regarding the swarms of parents who object to Mrs. Joshi or her shop.Mrs Joshi was nominated and awarded her OBE for good reason!!

Samia, I completely agree w you :)

Helle Kaiser-Nielsen ● 2386d

I just came across this thread. OBE?! I don't think so. She was awarded a British Empire Medal and only because some overly self-important people on the towpath thought it was a good idea to thank her for hand delivering their Daily Mails.

Pippa, did you really need to bring this thread back up just to make sarky remarks ? You have already made it clear on numerous occasions that you are not a fan of the Strand PO.

Richard Greenhough ● 2322d

Richard - I am free to post whatever I like. Who do you think you are?!

Pippa Meldrum ● 2322d

I reckon you've spent too long in lockdown.

Richard Greenhough ● 2322d

I reckon you need to get a life.

Pippa Meldrum ● 2322d

What, like yours ? To spend time searching through threads from a couple of months ago just to post sarky comments ? No thanks.

Richard Greenhough ● 2322d

Oh, Richard. Do give over. I can just see you sitting by your keyboard waiting on the next comment on any thread, ready to comment. Pathetic.

Pippa Meldrum ● 2322d

Richard - I am free to post whatever I like. Who do you think you are?!I beg to differ, there is a code of conduct on how you post on this forum and you are close to breaking it.

Bernard Allen ● 2322d

Bernard - really?! Please explain.

Pippa Meldrum ● 2322d

"I can just see you sitting by your keyboard waiting on the next comment on any thread, ready to comment."Pots & kettles, Pippa.

Richard Greenhough ● 2322d

Bernard, Pippa’s post is far more innocuous than many regular posters on this forum. She was correcting an earlier comment about Joshi’s ‘OBE’ - are we not allowed to make factual corrections now?

JR Turner ● 2322d

JR TurnerYou have your opinion and I have mine. But a reply to Richard, as below isn’t quiet true.Richard - I am free to post whatever I like. Who do you think you are?!Please Read the forum conditions about posting on this forum for future reference, as I cannot post what I like, as much as I would like to some times.

Bernard Allen ● 2322d

Thank you Bernard.Read through the code of conduct and particularly with regard to making defamatory statements.
