Haircuts

I know this is hardly a priority issue but has anyone any tipsfor cutting ones own hair.  Front and sides easy enough but backa bit of a problem.  Would prefer to keep short but may end up like  a 1970's hippie.  When they do reoopen the salons will bepretty busy.

I am going through the same quandary, Patricia.I do have an old set of electric shears somewhere from my short back and sides days, may dig them out I suppose. There may well be a few tips for snips on line, a few do's and don'ts perhaps.

If you have long hair comb it all from back to front over your head and you can see what you are cutting off, do little at a time until happy with length.

If we are looking at another 6 weeks lockdown possibly may i suggest getting a cliper set on Amazon and set it to number 4. It will have grown back once we get back to normal duties

everyone in our household have decided to grow our hair and donate it when we have 6 inches and donate it to a very good charity www.littleprincesses.org.uk, which is not currently accepting hair donations, but sure will need to top up when this is all over. so we will be donating our hair clippings and the money we would have paid to hairdressers during this lock down.

Try and sit with your back to a large mirror with a smaller one in front angled so you can see. Use a comb to lift hair, hold it at the appropriate length and cut against it. Takes getting used to, you have to try quite hard not to cut your fingers.

I bought my ancient mother some hair grips so that when her hair grows long she can put it up in a bun like she used to when she was younger.
