Is Chiswick a coronavirus-free zone?

Well, it would appear that's what a lot of you believe, judging by your unwillingness to follow the social distancing guidelines. In the few trips I've made in the last couple of weeks, I've regularly met an army of joggers, dog-walkers, families, couples, young people on phones, who just refuse to give way and make space. It's always me that has had to make a diversion to keep out of the way. Only this morning, while walking down Bollo Lane, two joggers were approaching me, side-by-side. I couldn't cross the road because of traffic, so I ended up dashing into someone's gateway. And don't get me started on the guy who walked past me talking on his mobile and coughing.So, I have to ask, what is it about social distancing do you NOT understand? We'll all get through this quicker with a more consideration for others.

I'm with you on this Julie. With no delivery slots (even on the shielding list!) we have no choice but to go out when we need to get food in. And I only go around the side streets for a walk for a half hour for some exercise (less people about). I am amazed how many people still don't practice any social distancing. And the rude looks and sometimes nasty comments when I politely but firmly tell someone to keep their distance is a regular occurance. Shameful.

I work for the railway so still have to go to work. This morning at 5.45 three of us got off the tube and two of us proceeded through the gate about 10 feet apart and kept that as we went out into the open. All of a sudden the third person came through the middle of us and proceeded to light up a cigarette and blow clouds of smoke with nowhere for us to take shelter. On the way home queuing orderly (for once)at the bus stop and well spaced out but as the bus approached a guy came along from nowhere and stood right next to the first person in the queue and got on the bus first with no sense of social distancing. Definately not a key worker like me and only went two stops! I don't think anyone's going to learn until it's total lockdown or fines are put into place to be quite honest.

I’ve found people pretty good generally, crossing the road if walking towards each other on pavements or in the road next to the parked cars but if there are people going in opposite directions on both pavements and people walking in the roads with cars and bikes it gets difficult. If you are going out it’s just about impossible to stay 2m from everybody, try using the A4 underpasses and keep 2m from someone coming towards you. You can stay 2m apart in supermarket queues or at the tills but In the aisles it’s impossible to stay 2m from all other shoppers not to mention staff filling out shelves. We can only do our best when out and stay at home as much as we can.
