DVDs to pass on

I’m about to sort out the dvd pile and I wondered if there was any way to pass them on to anyone needing something to watch? Or have dvds had their day? What I’d like to do is put a box of them outside for people to look through, but I can’t think of a lock down equivalent - any thoughts?

Nice idea, Johanne, I am sure there are still people who like watching DVDs (I still listen to classical music on them:) ) Maybe just put them in a box outisde (obviously not when it's about to rain) with a note to ask people if they are interested to also bring their own box or bag so they can just take what they want and leave the rest for others.  Most people will either wear gloves and/or wash their hands when they get home and they can just leave them for a few days to allow any virus time to subside.

Not a good idea: people touch it and could leave germs. Sorry, would strictly not advise to do so, we yougsters have netflix etc.Maybe when the crisis is over bring to a charity shop.

I think Claire has the right idea.  We all know what we have to do to prevent catching this virus. Mostly we are not children who need to be prevented from doing things because we are too naive to know better.  I watch DVDs still and if you were local to me I would be interested in looking through them for something to watch, using plastic gloves or other precautions. Of course there are idiots about, there always will be, but must we treat everyone as if they are because of the few?  Go for it I say!
