Sainsburys ALERT from Monday onwards

I have been told from someone else that attended Sainsburys W4 that the queue system of two people max at any one time is changing on Monday from two to one. Not my words but i am told it is to stop people shopping as two in the aisles. I take it a single parent and a young child does not count. Allso the front entrance is not in operation incase you did not know Hopefully someone will clarify if this is correct to the one policy from two tomorrow.

Apparently Lidl and Aldi only allow one person to shop. I can see why but it's also wrong to assume everyone is able to leave a child home alone.

Im guessing a child or possibly two is aloud in with a parent. That would be a wrong move to make on single parents

Does this mean that a single person who is shopping for one cannot get in through the front entrance to pick up a few things in one bag?

Yes RimaFront entrance is now closed and a one out one in policy now operates at the back entrance

I went there yesterday (5pm) and although the queue stretched round the corner to the end of the building,it moved fairly swiftly so it took just under 15 minutes to get in.It was well stocked as far as I could see.Hi Julian :-)

So in effect Sainsburys is now closed indefinitely  to pedestrians who only need small amounts and is only open for customers arriving in cars to pick up large quantities?

Rima Jones ● 2411d

not at all, you just need to walk around to the car park entrance…

Sainsbury's is not closed to anyone it's just that you have to enter through the car park entrance and like Waitrose only one person can shop from each household (probably bringing your children).

They are good stocked now and the waiting is not too long, If you want to pay cash, you have to go to self-checkout (that rule is also for the Kiosk )

Walking round to the car park entrance means having to walk through an alleyway then along a road with no pavement and cars coming through. Then carrying shopping all the way back to CHR and I’m sure that quite a lot of pensioners and disabled won’t be able to manage that.

How does this affect the disabled/elderly who need assistance around the store/to carry shopping?

Basket with carrier bag in. Walking stick in other hand and take to self checkout. Then pick up copies of Evening Standard and local papers before going out to CHR. I know of quite a few who are picking up for themselves and like to choose for themselves and their housebound partners.
