Suspending Broadband Service

I am looking after the accounts of an elderly relative who is self-isolating outside their normal home. They have broadband which is probably not going to be used for a few months so, as money is tight, I thought it might be an idea to suspend the service. They are with the Post Office and not in a contract period. Any downside to doing this?

No guarantee that they will re-connect, especially if a home visit is required to do so.
Openreach have stopped all home visits and have already stated that they will take time to recover the backlog.

Additionally, if it's part of a package, the actual broadband element cost is probably pretty low.

All connections should be remote. If it is not part of a package that includes phone line the easiest way is to phone them and stop service as you not in contract. If no joy in communication then just stop payment. But only stop payment if the broadband is not a package with line rental for phone
